Milestones of our ongoing project.
Built a basic RC plane to validate core aerodynamics, control, and assembly skills—ensuring readiness for advanced autonomous development.
Installed Pixhawk flight controller, GPS, and telemetry for autonomous navigation and control.
Tested multiple flight modes—FBWA, Stabilize, Loiter—and validated RC signal loss failsafe to ensure safe and reliable autonomous operations.
Added Raspberry Pi and dual cameras, enabling real-time video transmission and computer vision experiments.
Demonstrated autonomous takeoff via hand launch with acceleration detection and tested automated, gradual descent for smooth, self-controlled landings.
Completed a full mission where the plane auto-took off, followed a hexagonal waypoint path, and autonomously landed back at the launch point.
Deployed and fine-tuned a YOLO-based person detection system for onboard, real-time inference.
Conducted a mission where the plane autonomously surveyed an area, detected individuals using onboard vision, and performed targeted supply drops via parachute.
